TEN CRAP IRISH HORROR MOVIES!

A few years ago the idea of an Irish horror film seemed far fetched. We were too busy making dreary dramas set in the 1950s and such. Now we have lots of Irish horror films but the problem is that most are crap! Here (in no deliberate order) are ten examples:

Dorothy
Rubbish movie about a scary child. Awful stuff!

Boy eats girl
Silly zombie comedy made by people with no interest in this genre.

Isolation
This one is about cows and everyone knows there are no good horror films about cows!

Rawhead Rex
Proud to own this one on DVD as it's the first of a bad run in Irish horror films.

Daisy chain
One of the worst Irish films I've ever seen. Complete sh*t!

Assault of darkness
This one at least is funny. Except it's supposed to be scary. Also known as Bog bodies and Legend of the bog in case it ever turns up on television. The Plan 9 from outer space of Irish horror cinema!

Wake Wood
Much-hyped and little-seen Hammer title that rips off far better films such as Don't look now. Nothing to recommend about this one. Really sad that these films get made here as they appeal to no-one.

Shrooms
At least this effort made money and had a good poster. However, the film itself is complete rubbish. Another title made by a director who does not understand the horror genre.

Outcast
Better than the others but still silly and below average. A monster terrorises a Scottish flats complex while Irish travellers try to kill it!

Fantasist
Like Rawhead Rex this one came out in the 1980s and is just as bad. A serial killer terrorises Dublin and lots of rude phone calls and strange sexual imagery abound. The only horror movie to feature funk band Level 42!
