Probably Neil Jordan's best film this is based on the '60s movie
Point Blank. A saxaphone player witnesses the murder of a mute girl and tracks down the killers. It's a great film because it's poetic and the story is interesting. There's an unusual low opera voice running through the soundtrack that gives the film a unique quality. The scene where McSorley is followed home by Rea and then shot is superb (beside the Czech Inn!). Loved the bleak '80s setting. Another good scene was in the mental hospital where the patients increase in numbers.
