Poitín
Famous but little-seen Irish film from the 1970s. Decades before The guard and Kings it's set in the West and is in the Irish language (with English subtitles). The story involves a poteen maker who hides from the Garda and takes revenge on his pair of helpers who thrash a cottage because the poteen maker killed their dog. Bleak landscape and little dialogue. One of the best Irish home-produced films ever made.
