Another super-rare Irish movie from the '90s. This one is a punk version of
The Commitments with a gay subplot! Starts off with a walk through an empty estate (the Pope is visiting) and then tells the story of
The Dead Patriots. Lots of scenes set on a Dublin bus (hence the title) and various gigs. Like many Irish movies it's set in 1979 but it's not that good. Towards the end they look back on their band years in Dublin from the Celtic Tiger era. Way too ambitious for these filmmakers. To paraphrase Godard: 'make films punk and not punk films'!
